Position: Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach

Reports to: Head Coach and Athletic Department

Position Type: Stipend, Spring Season (March 31 – May 22)

Position Summary

Forman School is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Boys Lacrosse program at the varsity level. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of the program, including instruction, skill development, team culture, and game preparation. This role places a strong emphasis on mentorship, sportsmanship, and the holistic development of

student-athletes within Forman’s mission-driven community.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading practices, games, and overall program operations
• Teach fundamental and advanced lacrosse skills in alignment with the Head Coach’s philosophy
• Support the physical, social, and emotional development of student-athletes
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive team environment
• Be present and engaged at all practices, games, team travel, and off-campus competitions
• Supervise student-athletes during travel and events
• Assist with equipment distribution, care, and collection
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the Head Coach and Athletic Department
• Model professionalism, respect, and sportsmanship at all times
• Support game-day logistics and facility use as needed
• Perform additional duties related to the program as assigned by the Head Coach

Qualifications and Competencies?

• Prior playing and/or coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to student-centered coaching and positive youth development
• Ability to serve as a positive role model consistent with Forman School’s values
• Willingness to support Forman’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Successful completion of all required background checks and school onboarding requirements
