About the Role:
The Camp Glade Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall management of Camp Glade, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for all campers and staff. This role involves coordinating activities, managing staff schedules, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations within the accommodation and food services environment. The supervisor will serve as the primary point of contact for campers, parents, and staff, addressing concerns and fostering a positive community atmosphere. Additionally, the role requires strategic planning to optimize resource allocation and enhance program offerings. Ultimately, the Camp Glade Supervisor ensures that the camp operates smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professional education and/or child-care experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in camp supervision, Education, Early Childhood Education, or child-care.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to child-care environments and food service operations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and coordinating multiple activities simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and any required certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Experience working with children and youth in a camp or recreational setting.
- Familiarity with budgeting and child-care software management software.
- Additional certifications such as food handler’s permit or advanced first aid training.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize child-care software to organize forms, attendance, and communication with parents
- Provide a safe, clean and organized child-care area.
- Personally engage children in interactive activities that include storytelling, organized arts & crafts, singing, and games while ensuring other camp counselors engage children at all times
- Assist with ensuring camp counselors initiate, develop and maintain personalized relationships with parents and their children
- Promote and sell all children's programs, including birthday parties, kids’ night out and summer camp.
- Assist with managing programs and events within budgetary guidelines
- Complete working schedules for camp counselors
- Coordinate lunch program and snacks with F&B Director
- Coordinate golf lessons with head golf professional, coordinate pickleball lessons, and coordinate all onsite activities as well as field trips
- Attend scheduled training seminars and department meetings.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates and purveyors to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Maintains a professional standard at Glade Springs to include but not limited to appearance, verbal discussions, written correspondence and interactions with members, associates and guests. Does not discuss confidential items with fellow associates or work-related issues with members or guests.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Activities Director.
