About This Position
Responsible for managing hotel’s physical operations including but not limited to refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, laundry machines, swimming pools, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, plumbing, water treatment, and electric systems. Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner according to all specifications, and assists in the implementation of preventive maintenance program.
Essential Functions

- Interfaces with appropriate hotel staff/managers to receive information regarding maintenance needs; ensures timely response to requests.
- Communicates with hotel staff/managers to review and/or develop renovation and new construction plans, and coordinates communication with and work of outside contractors.
- Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed, and any discrepancies corrected.
- Ensures property compliance with all safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with janitorial duties on houseman’s days off. Able and willing to pick up trash and debris from all areas of the hotel and clean public areas if needed.
- Assist with special projects such as be willing to plant a tree.
- Conduct preventable maintenance on a regular basis in all guest rooms and throughout the property.
- Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment.
- Must be able to work AM weekdays and holidays. Nights and weekends if needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions. Usage of continuous movements to handle, feel and/or reach are required, as well as being able to hold a conversation with other team members and/or guests.
The employee is regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Full body coordination is needed to perform essential functions of the job.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

No travel is expected for this position. Must have reliable transportation to work.
Required Experience
Maintenance experience in hotel environment preferred.
Preferred Education
High school diploma or GED diploma preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills.
