Sr. Mechanical Engineer at The Shaw Group, LLC – Tyler, Texas

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static Equipment) based onsite in Tyler, Texas, you will play a critical role in the success of our Mechanical Engineering team by leading equipment requisitioning efforts and ensuring compliant, safe, and cost-effective designs.

This role is essential to executing high-quality projects without rework by serving as the technical authority on static equipment, piping specifications, and vendor coordination. You will work closely with project managers, peer engineers, and vendors to drive timely and accurate engineering outcomes in a growing, collaborative environment.

• Perform technical reviews of mechanical calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Develop and review piping specifications and man-hour estimates.
• Prepare RFQ and RFP packages for static equipment, including datasheets and specifications.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations and manage vendor clarifications.
• Perform pipe stress analyses and support equipment selection.
• Review vendor drawings and manufacturing engineering for compliance with codes and standards.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of senior-level mechanical engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency with PVElite, CAESAR II, and HTRI.
• Strong static equipment experience including pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

• Full-time, onsite role with a stable and experienced team.
