About This Position
Paralegal
Valleywise Health is seeking a highly skilled and detaildriven Paralegal to join our Legal Operations team. In this pivotal role, you will support complex, highvalue legal matters that advance the Valleywise Health mission and strategic priorities. You will work closely with leadership to address legal issues, prepare critical documents, conduct indepth research, and manage key projects across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in:

Healthcare and human resources law
-
Arizona public records laws and records management requirements
-
EEOC and government administrative procedures
-
Federal and state healthcare regulations (EMTALA, Stark, AntiKickback, HIPAA, AHCCCS, Medicare/Medicaid)
-
Employment law, open meeting laws, and conflictofinterest laws
-
Legal research, writing, and preparation of pleadings and briefs
What You’ll Do:
-
Provide specialized paralegal support on complex and highvalue legal matters
-
Conduct legal research, analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other data
-
Prepare legal documents, memoranda, and related materials
-
Manage office level and Valleywise Health projects
-
Serve as the District’s Official Custodian of Records and Records Manager
-
Maintain District records and respond to subpoenas, court orders, and public records requests
-
Support internal investigations and assist with legal compliance matters
Hourly Pay Range: $27.00 – $39.83
Qualifications
Education:
-
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience
Experience:
-
Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible legal assistant experience
-
Experience in a healthcare or public agency setting preferred
Certification:
-
NALA Paralegal Certification, or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Excellent organization, multitasking, and problemsolving abilities
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
-
Proficiency with Windowsbased computer systems
