About This Position

Key Account Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Key Account Manager in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to drive commercial success across a dynamic life sciences territory, supporting customers in academia, biotechnology, pharma, government, and research laboratories. You will lead sales efforts for a comprehensive portfolio of advanced research instrumentation, software, and services designed to accelerate scientific discovery and ensure data integrity. Operating in a remote capacity while covering the Maryland territory, you will combine strategic prospecting, technical demonstrations, and consultative selling to grow market share and revenue. This position blends scientific engagement with commercial leadership, requiring both relationship-building expertise and strong forecasting discipline. If you are motivated by innovation, autonomy, and measurable impact, this is a high-visibility opportunity within a collaborative, growth-focused sales organization.
Accountabilities:
  • Drive territory revenue growth by achieving and exceeding sales targets across instrumentation, software, and service offerings within the assigned region.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand market share across life sciences, biotech, pharma, academic, government, and contract research segments.
  • Proactively prospect and generate new business opportunities, dedicating significant in-field engagement time with customers and distribution partners.
  • Deliver compelling technical demonstrations, product training sessions, and on-site support to showcase value and ensure customer success.
  • Collaborate with distribution channel partners to maximize coverage and revenue performance.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, opportunity tracking, and forecasting using CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Monitor territory performance metrics and implement corrective strategies to maintain consistent growth.
  • Participate in regional events, seminars, and product shows to strengthen brand visibility and lead generation efforts.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of field sales experience, preferably selling into life sciences or drug discovery environments (research instrumentation experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working with laboratory technologies such as absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence, imaging, or related analytical systems is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage a territory independently while achieving revenue quotas.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), with strong data analysis skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage scientific and executive stakeholders effectively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel; must reside within the territory and within 45 minutes of a major airport.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable operating in a remote, performance-driven environment.

Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $91,250 to $96,250 USD, plus bonus/incentive eligibility.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Remote work flexibility within the assigned territory.
  • Professional development opportunities within a global, innovation-driven organization.
  • Inclusive and collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and career growth.
