📍 West St. Paul, MN (In-Office | 1 Day Remote)

BrightPath is seeking a detail-oriented, service-focused HR Specialist / Administrator to support our growing organization. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, values compliance and accuracy, and enjoys being the first point of contact for employees.

BrightPath provides residential and community-based services for individuals with disabilities across Minnesota. We are a 245D-licensed organization committed to safety, dignity, and high-quality service delivery.

What You’ll DoEmployee Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries (in-person and HR inbox)

  • Respond to routine requests within 12 hours and urgent matters within 24 hours

  • Assist with employment verifications, benefit questions, and policy guidance

  • Support accommodations and general employee requests

  • Greet and assist new hires during onboarding

Onboarding & Offboarding
  • Manage onboarding processes including I-9 verification, background studies, and HRIS setup

  • Prepare and send offer letters

  • Maintain new hire tracking spreadsheets and status updates

  • Process resignation confirmations and termination documentation

  • Support exit surveys and offboarding documentation

HR Administration
  • Process new hires, status changes, evaluations, and terminations

  • Maintain personnel files and HR tracking systems

  • Run HRIS reports and update dashboards

  • Assist with audits and compliance documentation

  • Draft employee communications and policy acknowledgements

Compliance & Projects
  • Support benefits administration and workers’ compensation processes

  • Assist with investigation documentation as needed

  • Help update policies, templates, and HR tools

  • Ensure strict confidentiality and protection of sensitive information

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum 3 years of HR administrative or HR coordinator experience

  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, payroll, and performance management processes

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

  • Experience supporting a diverse workforce

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field

  • HRCI or SHRM certification

  • Experience in a 245D or regulated human services setting

Work Environment & Requirements
  • In-office position (West St. Paul location)

  • One work-from-home day per week

  • Occasional travel may be required

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Availability after hours in case of emergencies
