Director, Enterprise Recruitment Optimization at CSS – Linthicum Heights, Maryland
About This Position
Summary: The Director, Recruitment Optimization owns in-flight performance control and delivery optimization across active patient recruitment programs. The role uses reporting and analytics to monitor performance against recruitment plans, scales successful strategies, and corrects performance erosion or margin compression early in execution. The Director bridges analytics and operational execution to ensure modeled assumptions translate into real-world results.
This role protects delivery timelines and financial outcomes by identifying performance gaps and implementing corrective actions across ongoing studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors active recruitment campaigns against enrollment projections and timelines
- Analyzes performance data to identify underperforming channels, geographies, or strategies
- Implements corrective actions to improve enrollment velocity and conversion performance
- Scales effective recruitment strategies across studies and therapeutic areas
- Identifies early indicators of margin compression or operational inefficiency
- Partners with Operations, Feasibility, and Marketing teams to align execution with modeled assumptions
- Develops standardized performance monitoring dashboards and reporting cadence
- Establishes escalation thresholds and response workflows for performance risks
- Tracks cost-per-consent and conversion performance against expectations
- Provides leadership reporting on recruitment health, risks, and forecast adjustments
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery outcomes
- Supports operational teams with data-driven recommendations for execution strategy
- Occasional travel to Company meetings and conferences as needed.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Statistics, Public Health, Marketing Analytics, or related field preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in clinical research recruitment, analytics, operations, or delivery performance management
- Experience analyzing recruitment metrics and operational performance strongly preferred
- Experience implementing process improvements across teams preferred
