The Opportunity
The Senior HR Generalist is a full-lifecycle HR role supporting approximately 550 employees across Connecticut and federal contract operations in multiple states. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this position owns talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, HRIS management, and learning and development delivery. The number one outcome of this role is a stronger people infrastructure: one that is compliant, consistent, and built to scale alongside the organization.
Compensation
· Base Salary: $85,738 - $113,918 (commensurate with experience)

What You Will Do
· Talent Acquisition. Lead full-cycle recruiting for assigned requisitions, maintain ATS integrity, and partner with hiring managers to build structured interview and onboarding frameworks.
· Employee Relations. Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions, conduct workplace investigations, and coach managers on performance documentation and corrective action.
· Compliance and Benefits. Administer health and welfare benefits, maintain SCA fringe benefit compliance, support CT Standard Wage obligations, and ensure accurate recordkeeping for federal and state contracts.
· HRIS and Reporting. Manage Paylocity employee records, process status changes, coordinate payroll, and build HR dashboards and workforce metrics reports for leadership.
· Learning and Development. Administer the Relias LMS platform, assign and track compliance training and DSP certification courses, and generate completion reports for regulatory and leadership review.
Requirements:What We Are Looking For
Required
· 3 or more years of progressive HR Generalist experience across two or more core HR functions.
· Working knowledge of CT and federal employment law including CT FMLA, CT Paid Leave, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and Title VII.
· Proficiency with an HRIS platform at an intermediate or advanced level with demonstrated ability to manage records, run reports, and troubleshoot independently.
· Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
· Self-directed technology user who learns new platforms independently and does not require close IT or administrative support.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate HR policy and data clearly for managers and frontline staff.
· Must be authorized to work in the United States and willing to complete a pre-employment background check and OIG exclusion screening.
Strongly Preferred
· Experience in a nonprofit, human services, or ID/DD organization.
· Familiarity with Service Contract Act compliance and Health and Welfare fringe benefit administration.
· Experience with Paylocity and/or the Relias LMS platform.
· SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification active or in progress.
· Multi-state HR compliance experience across at least one state beyond Connecticut.
