Deaf Rehabilitation Specialist- Part Time - (Saturday-Sunday) 10pm-6am
$18 - $18 an hour
Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals on their path to recovery from mental illness, physical illness, or substance use. This position focuses on fostering independence, promoting quality of life, and helping persons served achieve personal goals by practicing the principles of the Recovery Modelhope, respect, empowerment, and person-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities:- Provide direct support with daily living skills such as transportation, money management, diet coaching, shopping, cleaning (including modeling with clients), and other ADLs.
- Assist in identifying personal goals, completing functional self-assessments, and contributing to the development of Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs).
- Monitor progress and document assessments, monthly notes, contact notes, and incident reports accurately and on time.
- Support medication monitoring in alignment with agency protocols, including credentialing and ongoing communication with nursing staff.
- Recognize early warning signs of psychiatric or physical symptoms, intervene appropriately during crises, and encourage effective coping strategies.
- Facilitate community activities and outings that promote social engagement and integration.
- Follow agency policies, ethical standards, and recovery-based practices in all interactions.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, peers, and supervisors.
- Use professional language in both written and verbal communication.
- Work independently, manage interruptions, and contribute positively to the team environment.
- Maintain computer proficiency and complete required trainings.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience: One year of experience in mental health or psychosocial rehabilitation preferred.
Hold a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record; meet agency requirements for health, drug, and background checks.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
Understanding of recovery-oriented mental health approaches
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support individuals of diverse backgrounds
Crisis intervention and problem-solving skills
Fluency in ASL (required for the Deaf Program)
$18 - $18 an hour
