Job Description

We’re looking for Critical Care Transport Flight Medics who are passionate about delivering advanced, life-saving care during both inter-facility transfers and emergency responses. In this role, you’ll provide basic and advanced life support, monitor and treat critically ill or injured patients, and operate under the direction of a physician or medical director.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring safe, coordinated care across both air and ground transport settings, working closely with EMS crews and hospital teams while making a meaningful impact every day. We value strong communication, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to perform confidently in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, treatments, and continuous monitoring during transport

  • Deliver care in accordance with EMS protocols and medical director guidance

  • Safely operate in both flight and ground transport environments

  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members

  • Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing training

Collaborative Teamwork

This role involves working closely with our emergency and transport teams to deliver effective, patient-focused services and contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • California Paramedic License and Kern County Accreditation (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a busy 911 setting, including:

  • Unstable adult cardiac and other critical conditions

  • Mechanical ventilator support and invasive hemodynamic monitoring

  • Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP, BLS, PHTLS

  • FP-C certification within 6 months of hire

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • FEMA ICS courses: IS-100B, IS-200B, IS-700A, IS-800B

  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills

  • Must weigh less than 215 lbs fully dressed and maintain that weight


Preferred:

  • Current experience in critical care inter-facility transport

  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language

  • Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community
