About This Position
Job Summary
The HVAC Instructor is responsible for performing tasks that increase the college's productivity and efficiency. Additionally, they will continue to maintain the professionalism and decorum expected of the staff at Northwest Career College. Must have an EPA Section 608 Universal certification and two years of experience as an HVAC technician.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Teach HVAC courses according to the lesson plan and syllabus as directed by the program supervisorPrepare and grade written and practical examinationsAttend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other events as required by the CollegeDress professionally in accordance with the faculty dress codeEnsure that the quality and quantity of instruction provided in the classroom are consistent with the stated objectives of our school and industry.Ensure that the classroom and the school’s atmosphere are conducive to maximum learning and retention of students.Instructing students during the classroom experienceAdministering Online CoursesTutoring sessions online and in-personPrepares reports by collecting and analyzing informationAdministering the final exam (written and/or practical) on the last day of the moduleSubmit final course grades before the end of the week after the end of the termOther duties as assigned by the program supervisor
Experience
- REQUIRED: In-field experience: 2 or more years
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populationsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingKnowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques
License/Certification
- REQUIRED: EPA Section 608 Technician Universal Certification
Education
- REQUIRED HS Diploma or equivalentPREFERRED Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in the field
