About the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Asbestos Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our expanding Bankruptcy Claims team. This role is integral to the firm’s national asbestos practice and will focus on the preparation, submission, and management of asbestos bankruptcy trust claims. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in asbestos bankruptcy filings or similar mass tort claims administration, with the ability to manage high-volume caseloads, ensure compliance with trust requirements, and communicate effectively with both clients and third parties. This position is based full-time on-site in our Fort Lauderdale office.
- Prepare, file, and manage asbestos bankruptcy trust claims with accuracy, curing deficiencies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with bankruptcy trusts, auditors, and defense representatives to track claim status and resolve outstanding issues.
- Conduct detailed client outreach to collect supporting documentation and provide case updates.
- Review affidavits, medical records, and exposure materials to verify eligibility criteria and prepare claim summaries.
- Assist in maintaining claim databases, tracking deadlines, and generating periodic reports for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with supervising attorneys and other paralegals to ensure the timely and efficient handling of all claims.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience with asbestos bankruptcy trusts, mass tort claims, or similar legal claims administration.
- Familiarity with SmartAdvocate or other case management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort interacting with clients and external entities.

$28 - $36 an hour
