The Minot Public Library is accepting applications for the position of Building & Grounds Worker, with an application deadline of Tuesday, May 5th 2026. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants.
Nature of Work
This is a manual and semi-skilled custodial and grounds work in the care, cleaning and maintenance of the Minot Public Library and property. Work is performed under the general direction of a supervisor on-duty.
- 40 hours per week
- 75-90% of time works a regular schedule including every Saturday, with a 7:00 AM start.
- 10-25% of time works irregular shifts (special projects such as cleaning carpet and waxing floors, weather changes, etc.).
- When supervisor is on vacation, hours worked will vary to cover as needed.

Education, Experience, Other Requirements
- Graduation from high school and practical knowledge of, or some experience in, building maintenance and groundskeeping work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Possession of a valid North Dakota driver license.
Compensation and Benefits
- The assigned salary range for the position of Library Building & Grounds Worker is a Grade 51, which is $21.48 per hour starting wage.
- This is a full time, FLSA Non-Exempt position eligible for overtime.
- This is a fully benefitted position.
- North Dakota Veteran’s Preference Applicable under NDCC 37-19.1
