The Warehouse Lead serves as a working leader and key support to warehouse management. This role assists with daily operational oversight, employee coordination, training, and execution of warehouse processes while maintaining hands-on involvement in receiving, shipping, inventory, and safety activities. The Warehouse Lead acts as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Distribution Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the D/O Manager with daily operational planning and execution.
• Lead and coordinate warehouse associates across receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and put away.
• Provide directions, coaching, and on-the-job training to warehouse staff.
• Monitor workflow, productivity, and labor allocation to meet operational goals.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety policies, and quality standards.
• Assist with inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.
• Address minor employee issues and escalate concerns to management as needed.
• Serve as acting supervisor during manager absences. Administrative & Leadership Duties
• Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and timekeeping accuracy.
• Help track KPIs such as productivity, accuracy, and safety performance. • Participate in audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate operational updates and priorities to team members. Equipment & Systems Used
• Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP
• RF scanners
• Forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks (certification required)
• Microsoft Office or similar reporting tools Safety Responsibilities
• Enforce warehouse safety policies and PPE compliance.
• Lead by example in safe material-handling practices.
• Conduct safety observations and report hazards or incidents.
• Support safety training and corrective action follow-ups.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus.
• 3+ years of warehouse or distribution experience.
• Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus. Performance Expectations
