Job Description

Responsibilities

The incumbent's primary responsibility is to support the Pediatric Travel Team. This team travels to 8 locations throughout the state 3 days per week. Incumbent will be required to travel on a bus with other team members and stay in a regional location for 72 hours majority of the time. The incumbent will be responsible to pass a driving course and drive the bus in a rotation with the rest of the team. Incumbent will be away from home 2-3 nights per week majority of the time. While in the clinic, the incumbent works closely with the physician in the practice/center clinical setting, assists with direct patient care, and serves as the clinical liaison between physician and patient and between physician and the office staff. The incumbent is responsible for promoting communication among all care providers, patients, and office staff regarding the care plan for the patient as defined by the attending physician. This individual attends to patients utilizing the age appropriate principles of growth and development for patients of all ages according to the practice specialty.

**This role requires driving Norton Healthcare vehicles, which could include transporting patients and visitors. You must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record**

Qualifications

Required:
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program, OR (1) one year as a medical assistant
  • Valid Drivers License

Desired:
  • One (1) year as a Medical Assistant
  • Certified Medical Assistant
