About This Position
As the Clinical Educator you will be supporting the company mission and vision and managing and supporting the education department. Designs, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive clinical competency and orientation program education, clinical competency, and orientation program. Along with the Director of Education and Compliance Training, delivers, tracks, and schedules educational programs and manages educational resources.
What you will do:
- Coordinates and implements the clinical orientation program for all new hired RNs/LPNs.
- Supports the HHATP programs as an adjunct instructor.
- Leads the development, implementation, and execution of mandatory annual education and competencies for all clinical staff.
- Responds to the organization's educational needs via requests for training on new processes or patient care equipment or in response to identified knowledge deficits.
- Participates in the development and delivery of monthly educational programs for hospice staff.
- Collaborates with the education team in maintaining a resource library and electronic intranet system.
- Stays abreast of the latest trends and best practices in end-of-life care and participates in the dissemination of this information to staff.
- Stays current with Hudson Valley Hospice policy & procedures Federal, State and Local regulations, and accrediting bodies.
- Works closely with Marketing to disseminate information concerning webinars sponsored by NHPCO, HPCANYS, CAPC, and other hospice and palliative care organizations to staff via posted notices and carousel.

Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Work in various home environments, nursing homes or hospitals that Hudson Valley Hospice is contracted with
- Moderate/High level of possible exposure to infectious agents.
- Moderate amount of travel by car
- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unsafe environments.
- Routine duties involve potential for direct exposure to blood or body fluids.
- Valid New York State drivers license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to carry up to twenty-five pounds of supplies and/or materials used to provide community education.
Education & Experience:
- Current registration as an RN in New York State.
- Graduate of accredited nursing program/school
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- Preferred Certified as a Hospice Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) or obtain certification within two years of employment.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience required home care experience preferred, previous Hospice experience preferred.
- Clinical Education experience preferred
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30am-4:30pm); off hours when needed for additional education support
FLSA: Exempt
Pay: $90,000-95,000 per year
