Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Vascular Specialist (RVS) at Posterity Group LLC – East Orange, New Jersey

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing The East Orange VAMC in East Orange, NJ with Registered Vascular Technologists (RVTs) or Vascular Specialists (RVSs). The Vascular Technologist or Specialist expected to perform the following:

• Prepare the patient for sonographic procedures by assessing patient’s needs and providing pretest patient education, explaining procedures and answering questions; provide reassurance and support to patient throughout procedure; assure understanding of discharge instructions before patient leaves care area.
• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations according to the service’s procedures. Locate and record internal elements of the body.
• Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
• Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy; take corrective action where appropriate
• Log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and workspace per standard operating procedure.
• Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
• Technologists write notes in the medical record as needed to document any case that is delayed. Reasons for the delay are specified. The note includes a plan to get the study completed.
• Communicate with customers (e.g., veterans, family members, and the general public), co-workers and supervisors in a courteous, tactful, friendly and cooperative manner
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Shall be licensed to practice Vascular Ultrasound Technology in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Must be a registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) must be certified in general vascular technology by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Valid BLS
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
