About the Role
The GMA Repair Person is responsible for inspecting and repairing pallets while operating with incredible consistency and detail, ensuring pallets meet the quality standards. This role will perform an array of assembly line tasks from identifying and repairing damage, replacing, or reinforcing boards, to ensuring completed pallets are clean and free from debris.
Responsibilities
Inspect pallets for damage and wear and assess the extent of repairs needed.
Perform repairs with precision to provide consistent quality of all pallets.
Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to remove and replace damaged boards, reinforcing boards, and other pallet components.
Deliver on or exceed the daily production requirements.
Identify and understand types and grades of pallets.
Evaluate completed pallets to ensure they meet PLA standards.
Operate and maintain multiple forms of hand and power tools, and equipment.
Perform inspections of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Control and adjust equipment settings as needed.
Maintain a clean workspace, reducing accidents, and ensuring compliance.
Escalate technical and process issues to leadership.
Foster exceptional and collaborative partnerships with facility staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills & Education
Previous experience in pallet repair, woodworking, or construction preferred.
Knowledge of operating a variety of saws, including uses and maintenance preferred.
Ability to work with high-powered saws in a fast-paced assembly line environment, meeting or exceeding daily production goals and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and imperfections in pallets.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Any combination of education and experience will be considered.
Physical & Environment
Prolonged periods of standing and walking while at the assigned station.
Lifting, pushing, and pulling 75 pounds or more repeatedly throughout the workday.
Most duties are performed in a non-climate-controlled environment. May occasionally perform tasks that are off-site which require varying forms of travel. Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment while in facility production areas.
