The Manufacturing Facility Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This position will coordinate directly with the client's Facility Director. This role acts as the central point of contact for scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance, managing resources, and minimizing production downtime while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The coordinator collaborates with production teams, oversees vendor activities, and directs maintenance staff to maintain high levels of operational reliability and cost-effectiveness. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing trades technicians at the site. Must be a U.S. citizen due to export control regulations.

Education/Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial facilities, project management, or construction; and maintenance coordination or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in maintenance management (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional - CMRP).
  • Working Conditions
  • Full-time position with potential for on-call availability during off-hours for emergencies.
  • Work primarily in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Safety gear (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed boots) required at all times in designated areas.
  • Occasional travel to vendor sites or training sessions may be necessary.

Knowledge of and Ability to:

  • Strong knowledge of facility equipment including HVAC, generator, air compressors, mechanical doors, electrical basics, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and management.
  • Effective management and mentorship of trades staff reporting to this position.
  • Problem-solving abilities to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Able to be on call and work evenings and weekends, if needed. Regular attendance is essential.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance and repairs;
  • Understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively;
  • Manage time and meet deadlines;
  • Document repairs and other information in a CMMS application;
  • Be creative, developing solutions and recommendations;
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external suppliers and contractors, coordinating rentals, purchases, and services for equipment and systems. This includes organizing bids and confirming receipt of materials.
  • Act as the primary team member responsible for planning, managing, and ensuring completion of facility projects, including soliciting bids, evaluating vendors, overseeing work, and managing schedules.
  • Provide general technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and support facility operations, including unplanned servicing to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight activities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for facility equipment including HVAC systems, power systems, air compressors, doors and ramps, and other facility infrastructure to prevent breakdowns and extend asset lifespan.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance tasks, assign work orders to technicians, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion and compliance with quality standards.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and prioritize repairs to minimize impact on manufacturing operations.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies; procure necessary items from vendors while controlling costs and maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend improvements for efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with customer production managers to align maintenance activities with production schedules and avoid disruptions.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair histories, and compliance documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Adhere to OSHA 10/30 standards, ensuring all maintenance work complies with occupational health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Train and supervise maintenance team members on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment handling.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, optimize processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility.

Physical Requirements:

Routinely required to lift or move twenty five (25) to one hundred (100) pounds, constantly stoop bend, crouch, and crawl; work with hands and arms raised above the head, grasp materials and equipment with both hands, and climb ladders and stairs, work in lifts up to 35 feet from the ground.
