At Stewart Glass, you will work in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Logan, Ohio, supporting continuous 24/7/365 operations. We are seeking a Controls Engineer with industrial manufacturing experience to support electrical systems, automation, and process optimization in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and implement electrical and control systems supporting glass manufacturing operations
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation platforms
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and validation of electrical and controls equipment
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, and production system issues to minimize downtime
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements
- Lead controls upgrades, automation initiatives, and system optimization projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors on new equipment installations and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, OSHA requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, schematics, procedures, and change records
- Provide full-time, on-site, hands-on engineering support in a continuous manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Controls Engineering experience required, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Electrical Engineering background preferred but not required
- Strong experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, instrumentation, and control systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical and automation systems in production environments
- Familiarity with industrial electrical codes, safety standards, and OSHA general industry requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Shift & Work Schedule
- Full-time, exempt, on-site position in Logan, Ohio
- Night shift role (currently operating on a days-only training and onboarding schedule)
- Future schedule aligned with manufacturing rotations, including:
- 12-hour shifts
- 4-on / 4-off rotation
