About This Position
About the Role:
The Materials Handler plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products within the facility. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and coordinating with production teams to meet material demands in a timely manner. The Materials Handler supports operational workflows by organizing materials in a safe and accessible manner, minimizing downtime and production delays. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment. Ultimately, the Materials Handler contributes to the overall productivity and quality standards of the manufacturing operation by managing materials effectively from arrival to usage.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or materials handling environment.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and material handling procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment with proper certification.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting within the United States.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Additional certifications related to safety or equipment operation (e.g., OSHA training).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including overtime when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and supplies for quality and quantity accuracy.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization for easy retrieval.
- Prepare and stage materials for production lines according to daily schedules and work orders.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and documentation updates.
- Collaborate with production, quality control, and shipping departments to coordinate material flow.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to prevent accidents and maintain a clean work environment.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to supervisors promptly.

The Materials Handler utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage inventory accurately and ensure materials are stored and retrieved efficiently.
