About the Position

We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide world-class service at our client's large FDA lab in Lenexa, KS.

As a Sr. Building Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the property’s physical condition and safeguarding it against damage, loss, and deterioration. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and versatile—a true jack of all trades.

Typical Hours: 1st shift

What you’ll be doing

• Operate & Maintain Systems: HVAC, air handlers, chillers, boilers, pumps, fans, chilled/heating water systems, and related equipment.
• Preventive Maintenance: Plan and perform PMs to keep systems running efficiently and reliably.
• BMS & Life Safety: Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot Building Management Systems; support fire alarm, fire suppression, and other life-safety systems.
• Troubleshooting: Respond to hot/cold calls, leaks, and equipment failures; diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
• Documentation: Use work order software to track PMs, repairs, tenant requests, and inspections.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate and oversee contractors; ensure quality, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred 7-10 years of experience in commercial building operations and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong experience maintaining air handlers, chillers, boilers, chilled/heating water systems, and preventive maintenance.
• Solid BMS experience and systems troubleshooting skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and make independent decisions.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with smartphones (email, texts, work order systems).
• Lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and work within tight spaces
• On-call availability and occasional weekends
• Able to pass an extensive background check for government building
