About This Position
Job Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This role ensures consistent quality, cleanliness, and efficiency on the line while supporting the overall success of kitchen operations. The Line Cook works closely with the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for members and guests.
Essential Functions
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly rotated, and stored according to FIFO procedures.
- Communicate low stock levels or equipment issues to supervisors promptly.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Support other stations or tasks as needed during peak periods.
- Follow direction from the Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, and leadership team.
- Ensure dishes are delivered to the line accurately and quickly during service.
- Uphold all standards for food preparation, flavor profiles, and plate appearance.
- Minimize waste and support cost-control initiatives.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions and recipes.
- Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain).
Schedule
Required to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee frequently is required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle and utilize objects, tools and controls. Occasionally, may be required to lift 10 to 60 lbs. Temperatures vary from freezer to oven.
Requirements:Knowledge, Skill, Experience
- Formal culinary training.
- Minimum of two years experience.
- Ability to work able to follow detailed instructions and recipes.
- Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Efficiently in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
