The AED Inspection & Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that life-saving equipment is rescue-ready when it matters most. This role is responsible for conducting on-site inspections of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting customers in maintaining fully operational readiness programs. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role with direct impact on community safety.

This is a limited part-time position that requires full time hours the first two weeks of the month to meet customer inspection deadlines. The remainder of the month will have limited to no working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled on-site AED inspections at customer locations.
  • Verify AED functionality, including battery life, pad expiration, and device readiness indicators.
  • Replace or coordinate replacement of expired or non-compliant components (pads, batteries, accessories).
  • Ensure AEDs are properly installed, visible, and accessible per compliance guidelines.
  • Support new installations, as necessary, following established protocol.
  • Document inspection results accurately in our program management tool, AED365.
  • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to customers.
  • Support customers in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer readiness programs (additional devices, accessories, training, or service needs).
  • Maintain inventory of inspection supplies and equipment.
  • Travel locally/regionally to customer sites as needed.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to achieve individual, department or company objectives.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or healthcare-related background preferred.
  • CPR instructor preferred.
  • Experience in field service, inspections, compliance, safety programs, or related work preferred.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using mobile technology and software systems for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license, remain insurable and have the willingness and ability to travel locally.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk and move throughout customer sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 25 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs rarely).
  • Ability to travel between multiple locations in a day.
