Job Summary:
PLEASE NOTE: This will be an international position, based in Mumbai, India, and employed by Harvard Global Services India LLP, India -- an affiliate of Harvard University or by another affiliate of Harvard University.
The India Research Center, based in Mumbai, serves as a hub for Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s research projects, educational programs, and knowledge translation and communication work across India. The Center is designed to facilitate the development of new strategic relationships and build upon existing ones with organizations across India. The Center is led by Dr. K Viswanath, Lee Kum Kee Professor of Health Communication at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
The Project Assistant involves working closely with the India Research Center team to contribute to the development, coordination and implementation of the research, capacity building, and knowledge dissemination activities of the Center.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implementation of programmatic activities in alignment with the Center's priorities.
- Develop concept notes, research manuscripts and other Center products.
- Undertake administrative responsibilities as required, including scheduling meetings, documenting meetings, and supporting event logistics.
- Prepare presentations, briefing materials and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Research and assist Center’s senior team with identifying and connecting with key stakeholders of interest to Center’s activities.
- Work closely with Harvard faculty, collaborators, and project teams to support in planning, tracking progress and identifying opportunities for capacity building and knowledge dissemination.
- Coordinate in-person and virtual events, including training workshops, symposia, webinars and seminars. Assist in developing workshop materials.
- Support the project team in identifying and engaging with vendors, interns, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform other duties as required in support of the Center’s mission and activities.
Additional requirements:
- The role will require regular evening hours to coordinate with US-based operations.
- Occasional travel within India will be required
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of 2 years from date of hire with the possibility of extension.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3+ years of related experience required; a combination of education and experience may be considered

Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Health Systems Management, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in research and project management, and in public health or allied fields preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including English language skills and/or fluency (including speaking, writing, understanding, and reading), strongly preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Basic understanding of communication practices and social media tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Appointment End Date: Two years from date of hire
- Standard Hours/Schedule: 40 hours per week

Compensation Information
The compensation for this position will be paid out in the local monetary equivalent. Additional details about the salary range will be provided by the hiring team throughout the hiring process.
