Are you interested in a career in healthcare but unsure where to begin? Box Butte General Hospital is offering an exciting Job Shadow Program designed to provide high school students with a unique opportunity to gain insight into healthcare careers.
Program Overview:This program allows students to closely observe professionals in various healthcare roles. Interns will shadow experienced team members, gaining valuable skills and firsthand knowledge about their career interests. With both clinical and non-clinical positions available, this internship will help students explore a wide range of healthcare careers.
Interns will have the chance to:
- Ask questions about the job and gain new skills
- Shadow multiple departments to get a better understanding of their areas of interest
- Experience healthcare careers through hands-on observation
- Clinical (4 positions) – Includes fields such as Nursing, Radiology, Laboratory, and Physical/Occupational Therapy
- Non-Clinical (2 positions) – Includes areas like Admissions, Finance, IT, Purchasing, and Environmental Services (E.V.S.)
- Eligibility: High school juniors and seniors
- Duration: June to July (approximately two months)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to Noon
- Paid Internship – A temporary, paid program to help you gain hands-on experience.
- Mandatory Orientation: Interns must attend an orientation session; the date will be provided during the interview.
