Role OverviewThe Senior Project Manager is a high-level strategic leader responsible for overseeing large-scale data center construction projects ($50M–$500M+) or managing multiple medium-scale projects simultaneously. This role demands deep expertise in technical, mission-critical construction and the ability to drive complex projects to successful completion while serving as the primary face of the company to the client.

Qualifications
Driver’s License RequirementFor roles that require on-site presence or travel between work locations as an essential function of the position, candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the role and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws.
Communication SkillsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions.
The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control. Because the project remains under construction, certain areas of the site — including access routes, staging zones, and temporary structures — may not yet be fully ADA-compliant until construction is complete or those third-party areas are finalized.
Physical Requirements
Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in and around active construction areas, which may include unfinished buildings, temporary field offices, staging areas, and partially completed infrastructure. These locations may contain uneven surfaces, limited accessibility, and other conditions typical of construction projects prior to final completion. Overwatch does not control and cannot modify accessibility conditions within areas, facilities, or temporary structures owned or managed by third parties.

- Scale & Complexity: You must demonstrate a track record of leading massive data center projects (up to $500M+) from planning through execution and final closeout.
- Resource & Financial Control: The client needs a leader who can expertly develop and maintain intricate project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
- Risk Mitigation: You are expected to proactively identify project risks and implement swift corrective actions to keep projects on track.
2. Client & Stakeholder Mastery
- Primary Client Interface: You will serve as the main point of contact, responsible for fostering high levels of trust, communication, and satisfaction with the client.
- Negotiation & Procurement: This role involves managing subcontractor procurement and leading complex contract negotiations.
- Business Development: Beyond project execution, you are expected to support company growth by nurturing long-term client relationships.
3. Technical & Operational Oversight
- MEP & Design Expertise: You must oversee design coordination and constructability reviews, requiring a strong understanding of complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Commissioning Knowledge: Deep familiarity with data center design, commissioning, and operational requirements is essential.
- Executive Reporting: You will be responsible for providing high-level project reporting, including financial forecasts and executive summaries to senior leadership.
4. Mentorship & Team Development
- Leadership Pipeline: A core function is providing direction and mentorship to a full project team, including Project Managers, Assistant PMs, and Project Engineers.
Qualifications
- Extensive Experience: 10+ years in construction project management, with at least 5 of those years specifically in mission-critical or data center projects.
- Large-Scale Track Record: Proven success managing large-scale, ground-up, or fit-out projects with complex MEP systems.
- Software Expertise: Proficiency in industry-standard tools like Procore and Primavera P6.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required (a Master’s degree is preferred).
- Mobility: Willingness to work at project sites full-time and travel nationally for oversight and meetings.

- Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
