Purpose & Vision Statement

The Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support all people - including clients, volunteers, community partners, and staff - to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness. We offer supportive housing and addiction recovery programs that promote self-sufficiency, sustainable transformation, and stability. We share our Christian faith within a loving and inclusive community.

Job Purpose

Represents TRM by building and sustaining relationships with partners, ensuring alignment between TRM’s values and prospective partnerships, and alignment with the financial and in-kind goals of external partners and collaborators.

Duties & Responsibilities

Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with a provided list of TRM’s business partners, external partners, and potential clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business and community partner inquiries and engagement. When necessary, pass along relational development to TRM Development Officer(s) or other Community Engagement (CE) team members.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic collaborations to enhance Good Neighbor Village and the project growth.
  • Negotiate and formalize partnership agreements and ensure mutual benefit.

Corporate Communication:

  • Develop and deliver tailored communication plans to engage business and community partners and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization as needed at events and meetings.

Development:

  • Collaborate with Development team to align corporate engagement strategies with overall TRM Comprehensive growth strategy.

Reporting and Feedback:

  • Maintain comprehensive records, activities and tasks of corporate interactions and partnerships.
  • Work with Director of Development and CE team to provide reports as requested on the status of business and community relationships and initiatives.

Brand Advocacy:

  • Promote the organization's mission and values to external partners, ensuring a consistent brand image.
  • Collaborate with the CE marketing team to enhance corporate branding efforts.

Other:

  • Travel throughout Pierce County for errands and functions relevant to the position.
  • Embodies the values that form our culture to meet the organization’s mission of sharing God’s love, hope, and support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

Working Conditions

Office environment and meetings around the community; interactions with staff, community partners, donors, etc.; regular use of computer and phone.

Schedule and Work Location

Schedule:

Part-time, up to 29 hours per week.

Normal business hours with some flexibility.

Primary Location of Work:

Hybrid of Various Locations– Work-From-Home, Downtown Campus, and Good Neighbor

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of nonprofit fund development experience.
  • Experience with face-to-face donor solicitation and fundraising with an emphasis on relationship building is highly desired.
  • Ability to problem solve, take initiative, and think strategically and creatively.
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Facilitates functions through a trauma-informed, person-first, and grace-based approach.
  • Fosters a sense of community and shared purpose via collaboration and cooperation with others inside and outside the organization.
  • May attend evening and weekend meetings and events.
  • Access to a vehicle for frequent travel throughout Pierce County and TRM locations.
  • Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability.
  • Acceptable driving record.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements

  • Stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Occasionally moves to respond to urgent situations.
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Communicates information and ideas so others will understand. Exchanges accurate information in these situations.
  • Observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Frequently move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.
  • Drives personal vehicle.

    • Hiring Salary Range: $36.68 - $40.39
    • Full Salary Range: $36.68 - $44.49
