This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an MGS – R&D / VP / EVP R&D in the United States.
This role is a senior leadership position overseeing a large, distributed R&D organization responsible for both maintaining mature, legacy products and driving major modernization initiatives. You will lead engineering execution across multiple geographies, balancing operational excellence with innovation, including cloud-native, Kubernetes-based, and AI-enabled architectures. Collaborating closely with Product, Sales, Support, and Professional Services, you will ensure alignment between engineering output and business priorities. You will also shape the engineering culture, mentor senior leaders, and influence long-term technology strategy while delivering measurable impact on product quality, customer experience, and business growth. - Lead end-to-end engineering delivery across multiple development sites, ensuring predictable, high-quality software releases
- Oversee a global team of ~80 engineers, QA specialists, and support personnel, defining structure, managing performance, and fostering a high-performance culture
- Implement, scale, and refine Agile practices across distributed teams, driving efficiency, capacity planning, and risk mitigation
- Maintain engineering quality through coding standards, code reviews, test automation, CI/CD, and technical debt management
- Drive modernization programs including cloud adoption, SaaS enablement, and AI integration while supporting legacy product stability
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering priorities with product roadmap, business objectives, and customer commitments
- Manage R&D budgets, tooling, infrastructure, and training, while mentoring team leads and future engineering leaders
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including 5+ years managing teams of 50+ people
- Proven experience leading distributed and offshore teams, ideally including India and Europe
- Strong background in modernizing legacy software platforms and delivering large-scale transformation programs
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and SaaS architectures
- Demonstrated success in hiring, performance management, retention, and building cohesive engineering cultures
- Experience in software product companies, collaborating with business stakeholders to align technical decisions with business objectives
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, multi-year programs, and complex technical ecosystems
- Preferred: experience with developer tooling, enterprise infrastructure, or integration platforms, and oversight of support operations within R&D
