JOB SUMMARY
The Healthcare Contract Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining, updating, and ensuring the accuracy of healthcare provider and payer contracts within contract management systems. This role supports contract compliance, reimbursement accuracy, and operational efficiency by managing contract data, amendments, renewals, and audits in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain and update healthcare contracts (payer, provider, vendor) in contract management systems and related databases
- Enter, validate, and reconcile contract terms including rates, fee schedules, effective dates, and amendments
- Monitor contract expirations, renewals, and termination dates; coordinate timely updates and notifications
- Review executed contracts and amendments to ensure accurate system configuration
- Collaborate with contracting, finance, revenue cycle, legal, and compliance teams to resolve contract discrepancies
- Support reimbursement accuracy by ensuring contract terms align with billing and claims processing systems
- Perform routine audits and quality checks on contract data to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Assist with contract modeling, reporting, and analysis as needed
- Maintain contract documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Respond to internal inquiries related to contract terms, rates, and status
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience & License
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred but not required.
- 2+ years of experience in Hospital healthcare contract management, contract maintenance, or revenue cycle operations
- Knowledge of healthcare payer contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and fee schedules
- Experience working with contract management systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of data accurately
- Understanding of hospital healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
Additional Skills
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Other languages preferred.
- Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, PPO's, private insurance companies.
- Basic computer knowledge, data entry skills.
