Description:

Position Summary

The Curriculum Development Manager is a dynamic, self-motivated expert in online curriculum development with a proven track record of delivering and maintaining high-quality, academic curriculum in a vast array of subject areas. The candidate will be responsible fortraining and overseeing the work of course development team members in the development of biblically-integrated academic content and ensuring quality and consistency across curriculum resources.

This is a remote position performed from a home office anywhere in the contiguous United States. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with course development experts to design standards-based courses that utilize innovative pedagogies and best practices in K-12 online learning
  • Streamlines and documents curriculum development processes to improve quality and efficiency
  • Effectively engages cross-departmental collaboration to develop shared processes, and resources, and documentation
  • Manages multiple curriculum projects simultaneously, adhering to approved expectations, timelines, and budgets
  • Assists in the design of appropriate lessons, assignments, activities, and assessments that align directly with academic standards and learning outcomes and that are appropriate for the online environment
  • Evaluates online courses and digital content against accepted quality standards and recommends curricular updates to improve content quality, as well as end-user experience
  • Ensures alignment of K-12 curriculum to appropriate academic standards
  • Assesses skills and qualities of in-house staff and contractors to effectively identify and address training and development needs
  • Supports and oversees the day-to-day performance of in-house staff and contractors, fostering a supportive and dynamic culture within remote teams
  • Manages various components, such as acquisition, development, copyright, and attribution of media elements to meet technical and legal requirements of digital content
  • Implements revisions within learning management and content management systems using HTML5, JSON, and/or CSS
  • Assists with the formulation of strategic plans for upcoming curriculum development projects.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Salary Range: $72,000 - $76,000; based on work experience, education, training, knowledge, skills, and internal and external equity.

Employees may choose from benefits including HDHP and copay medical plans, dental, vision, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, health savings account, 403b retirement plan, and supplemental life and disability insurance. Essential Qualifications

Spiritually the ideal candidate possesses characteristics that reflect

  • a Christian role model (Luke 6:40) in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. (This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct.)

  • an active participation in a local Bible-believing church

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, or related field (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • Five or more years of project management experience related to K-12 online course development?
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience ?
  • Experience with online teaching preferred (Christian school experience preferred)
  • Experience implementing and managing content within learning management and content management systems (Buzz preferred)
  • Technical adeptness that allows for quick learning of new software?
  • Fluency with English grammar, punctuation, and style, as well as logic and argumentation?
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to closely follow content requirements in terms of style and project specifications?
  • Strong organization skills that support the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and shift directions with ease in a deadline-driven environment?
  • Familiarity with HTML5, JSON, and CSS strongly preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Professional remote work environment in which to conduct videoconferences and phone calls
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% by plane or automobile
  • Driver’s License required to be kept current and in effect as a condition of employment
  • Employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, and talk or hear
  • Essential duties require the use of computers to process information
  • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read at close range and distinguish colors and contrasts
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal

  • Accountable to the agreed upon job description and ACSI’s policies
  • Accountable to agreed upon goals and timelines
