This role sits at the intersection of client strategy, scientific communications, and account leadership within a fast-paced medical communications environment. You will support senior account leadership in managing complex client relationships, driving strategic planning, and ensuring successful execution of multi-channel medical communication initiatives. Acting as a trusted partner to both clients and internal teams, you will help translate scientific and business objectives into impactful programs. The position requires strong commercial awareness, scientific understanding, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across therapeutic areas. You will also contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities, improving account performance, and strengthening long-term partnerships. This is a highly collaborative role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on project and account execution.
- Support the development and execution of strategic and tactical account plans aligned with client business objectives and communication needs.
- Manage day-to-day client relationships, ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and alignment on strategy and deliverables.
- Oversee and coordinate medical communication projects, ensuring quality execution, timeline adherence, and budget alignment.
- Contribute to the identification and development of new business opportunities within existing accounts and through internal collaboration.
- Partner with internal teams to translate scientific data and market insights into clear, impactful communication strategies and deliverables.
- Monitor account performance, budgets, and resource utilization to support both client success and organizational efficiency.
- Assist in preparing client-facing materials, presentations, and strategic recommendations.
- Support senior account leadership in managing escalations, client meetings, and high-level strategic discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or business-related graduate degree) strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in account management within medical communications or a related healthcare/biopharma communications environment.
- Experience working with medical affairs, publications, peer-to-peer education, or scientific communications is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret scientific, clinical, and market data and translate it into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence interacting with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to develop clear, visually compelling presentations.
- Understanding of financial and business metrics related to account and project performance.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
