Position Summary

Sperry Rail Service is seeking candidates to join our team as Joint Bar Analysts at our Olathe, KS office. This is an entry-level opportunity that offers hands-on experience in rail safety and data analysis in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

As a Joint Bar Analyst, you will play a critical role in improving railroad safety by reviewing digital images of rail components. Using Sperry’s proprietary software, you will analyze photographs of joint bars to identify visible defects such as cracks or missing hardware.

No prior railroad or technical experience is required—comprehensive training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and analyze digital images of railroad joint bars using company software

· Identify visible defects, including cracks and missing components (nuts, bolts, etc.)

· Produce accurate and detailed reports for customers

· Communicate and coordinate with field operators to ensure quality and consistency

· Complete and distribute daily operational reports to customers and internal teams

· Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications

· Ability to work at a computer for extended periods (8-hour shifts)

· Strong attention to detail and visual accuracy

· Effective communication skills and professional phone etiquette

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

· Basic computer proficiency
