Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; occasional evening and weekend hours required

About Generation QQCH’s Generation Q program is a youth drop-in center serving LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning) youth ages 13–21.
The Program Coordinator will support the Director of LGBTQ Youth Services in the daily operations of Generation Q, provide direct support to program participants, assist with outreach to schools and community partners, and help ensure strong participant engagement and retention.
As part of the Youth Services Team, the Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the QCH community, funders, and stakeholders to ensure youth participants can:
- Explore their interests and passions
- Develop positive social connections
- Contribute to their communities
- Become lifelong learners
- Gain meaningful educational and career experiences
The position reports directly to the Director of Generation Q.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Generation Q program.
- Help develop and implement educational and recreational programming that supports youth development and social-emotional learning.
- Attend community outreach and tabling events to promote Generation Q services.
- Assist with the development and facilitation of trainings for schools and community organizations.
- Participate in program meetings and required trainings including:
- Queens Community House Staff Development Days
- NYS LGBT Network Retreats
- Queens LGBT Consortium meetings
- Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly program schedules and program materials.
- Collaborate with other QCH youth programs to provide additional support and enrichment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a NYC referral and resource list for youth participants.
- Support the development and facilitation of inclusive sexual health education curriculum.
- Work with other youth programs to support career counseling, internships, and employment opportunities.
- Assist in organizing major program events such as:
- Annual Career Panel
- Pride Month activities
- Oversee the program’s physical space when the Program Director is off-site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working with LGBTQ youth ages 13–24, preferably in a teaching, group facilitation, or youth program setting.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles, including social-emotional learning (SEL).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the needs, experiences, and interests of LGBTQ youth and young adults, including gender identity and transgender issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and respond sensitively to client needs.
- Commitment to inclusive and multicultural programming, with an understanding of intersectionality and experience working with diverse communities.
