Position Summary

The Routing Scheduler II is responsible for coordinating and executing outbound shipment routing to ensure orders are scheduled, prioritized, and shipped accurately and on time. This role supports the daily routing workflow, monitors shipment activity, and collaborates with operations and carrier partners to maintain efficient order flow and meet customer service commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Routing Operations: Assist in coordinating the routing team’s workflow to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate shipment scheduling.

• Optimize Shipment Schedules: Use routing software to prioritize and schedule shipments while adhering to SLAs, routing guides, and carrier load requirements.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with customer service, distribution leadership, wave planning, and operations teams to ensure a smooth order flow.

• Monitor Carrier Compliance: Review routing guides, quote shipment rates, monitor carrier pick-ups, and escalate any appointment issues.

• Process & Document Shipments: Generate bills of lading (BOL), customs documents, and process small package shipments via FedEx, UPS, and USPS.

• Provide Team Support: Provide training and support to enhance the routing team’s performance and efficiency.

• Support Facility KPIs: Maintain standards in safety, quality, and productivity while ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Problem-Solve in Real Time: Expedite urgent orders, proactively communicate challenges, and provide updates on progress throughout the day.

• Administrative & Reporting Duties: Assist the Routing Manager in reporting, documentation, and overseeing operations in their absence.

• Exception Management: Identify potential routing or scheduling issues and communicate with operations teams to resolve them before impacting shipment timelines.

• Operational Coordination: Coordinate shipment scheduling with warehouse operations to align routing plans with dock capacity and labor availability.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring routing challenges and recommend process improvements to improve efficiency and service reliability.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years in routing, logistics, supply chain, or transportation coordination.

• Proficiency in routing software, shipment tracking tools, and carrier management systems.

• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow routing guides meticulously and maintain accurate documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods (often 6–8 hours per day)

• Occasional standing, walking, or reaching

• Ability to lift or carry up to 10–15 lbs (e.g., files, small office equipment)

• Frequent hand and finger use for keyboarding, writing, and mouse operation

• Adequate vision for reading screens, documents, and spreadsheets

• Mental acuity and multitasking

• Clear verbal communication for meetings, phone calls, and collaboration

Work Environment

• Professional office environment

• Regular use of computers, phones, printers, and standard office equipment

• Moderate noise levels (e.g., conversations, office machinery)
