JOB TITLE: Diversion Specialist

EMPLOYER: Spokane Treatment and Recovery Services

DEPARTMENT: Diversion

REPORTS TO: Diversion Services Supervisor

SALARY: $18.00-18.50/hour DOE plus shift differential when applicable

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time, limited benefit eligibility

EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt

EFFECTIVE DATE: 4/14/2026

SUMMARY: This position works closely with hospital and withdrawal management staff to assess patients and plan services to adults who are experiencing acute and/or persistent substance use disorders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Will provide assessment and planning services to adults who are experiencing acute and/or persistent substance use disorders.

· Will provide outreach to area hospitals to provide discharge planning and locate appropriate services in the community.

· Will provide coordination and problem-solving with hospital staff.

· Will provide screening for risk of self-harm and risk of harm to others.

· Shall assess the consumer’s ability to provide for their own self-care.

· Responsible for open and appropriate communication with staff.

· Responsible for keeping current with Washington RCWs and WACs as related to Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder treatment.

· Review and confirm that all patient records are audit compliant.

· Perform required case management responsibilities.

· Attend all relevant trainings that could enhance service delivery.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· No prior experience or training.

· Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite
