Senior Medicaid Benefits Specialist – Community Support Program

Do you have a passion for helping vulnerable individuals access the care they need to live their best lives? Do you possess deep knowledge of Medicaid eligibility and a talent for mentoring others?

Riverbend Community Mental Health is seeking an experienced, proactive, and compassionate Senior Medicaid Benefits Specialist to join our Community Support Program. In this leadership role, you will not only manage complex benefits cases for our clients but also serve as the subject matter expert and mentor to our dedicated benefits team.

What You Will Do

  • Empower Clients: Guide clients through initial Medicaid applications, redeterminations, and gathering necessary verifications.
  • Advocate & Attend: Represent clients at DHHS offices and hearings to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Lead & Mentor: Act as the go-to subject matter expert for complex Medicaid cases, providing real-time problem-solving support to your team.
  • Onboarding & Training: Help new Benefits Specialists thrive by assisting with training and modeling excellent client engagement.
  • Streamline & Strategize: Develop and implement organizational systems for documentation, tracking, and workflow, while identifying trends in denials to improve processes.
Requirements:

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Rehabilitation, or Human Services required. *
  • A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance with minimum coverage of 100,00/300,00 are essential.
  • Experience working in behavioral health services, or experience working with State, Federal or local welfare, disability, or other entitlement programs is preferred.
