This role sits at the core of a high-scale search and discovery system powering billions of requests across global eCommerce platforms. You will be responsible for defining how user intent is interpreted and how search results are ranked, ensuring every interaction delivers measurable value. The position blends deep product thinking with strong technical understanding of machine learning and search systems. You will work closely with engineering, ML, and data science teams to improve search quality, relevance, and interpretability at scale. This is a highly analytical and impact-driven environment where decisions are grounded in metrics, experimentation, and continuous optimization. You will help shape the intelligence layer of search, influencing both user experience and business outcomes. You will own the strategy and execution for improving search quality and query interpretation, ensuring that search systems deliver accurate, relevant, and high-performing results through data-driven and ML-powered approaches.

• Define and lead the roadmap for query understanding, including how user intent is interpreted and translated into search results.
• Develop and optimize search quality models that improve ranking relevance, recall, precision, and overall result effectiveness.
• Design metrics, tools, and evaluation frameworks to measure, explain, and continuously improve search quality.
• Collaborate closely with ML, data science, infrastructure, and engineering teams to build and scale search systems.
• Lead incident investigation and triage for search quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
• Benchmark search performance against competitors and industry standards to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure all product decisions are grounded in measurable outcomes, experimentation, and user value.

This role requires strong product management expertise combined with deep technical understanding of search systems, machine learning, and data-driven product development.

• Experience as a Product Manager in search, NLP, machine learning, or highly technical data-driven products.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end search systems, including tokenization, indexing, retrieval, and ranking.
• Experience with search relevance concepts such as spelling correction, synonyms, embeddings, or LLM-based query interpretation.
• Familiarity with production ML systems, including trade-offs between real-time and batch processing.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define and interpret quality metrics at scale.
• Technical fluency and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, ML, and data science teams.
• Experience building evaluation frameworks or working with experimentation-driven product development.
• Strong communication skills and a structured, systems-oriented way of thinking.
