Material Handler Lead at Diamond Graphics LLC – Ramsey, Minnesota

Job Summary: The Material Handler Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all material handling activities within the production environment. This role ensures that materials flow efficiently throughout production, supports continuous operations on all production lines, and leads a team of material handlers to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of material handlers to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards
• Provide daily direction, support, and constructive feedback to maintain a high-performing team
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate the movement of materials to all manufacturing areas to ensure uninterrupted production
• Monitor workflow and adjust material distribution to reduce downtime and optimize efficiency
• Ensure production lines are consistently supplied with required materials and components
• Track material usage, receipts, and disposal activities with accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain proper inventory levels, especially supporting final finishing processes.
• Monitor and analyze overproduction trends, communicating insights and recommendations to leadership
• Oversee client-specific fulfillment requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards and timelines
• Assist with daily mailing fulfillment activities, including packaging and timely dispatch of all outgoing orders
• Operate and oversee the use of load turners and other material-handling equipment
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety protocol
• Collaborate with production supervisors to identify and resolve bottlenecks, material shortages, or workflow issue
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in logistics or supply chain management is a plus
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in materials handling or warehouse operations, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer applications
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capability to organize, guide, and motivate team members
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support operational goals
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; able to clearly convey information and collaborate with team members
• Basic mathematical skills with the ability to perform product counts, measurements, and simple calculations accurately
• Strong awareness of workplace safety when operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and working around other equipment and personnel
• Forklift certification required; recertification must be completed upon hire
• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required to meet business needs
