About This Position
Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, increasing operational efficiency, and ensuring high product quality across production operations. This role supports production through the design and optimization of workflows, implementation of process improvements, and development of cost-effective manufacturing solutions. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in injection molding operations, automation systems, and continuous improvement initiatives, while collaborating closely with production, tooling, maintenance, and quality teams.
Requirements:- Evaluate, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and product quality
- Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Support equipment layout, plant flow, and workflow optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and tooling
- Develop, validate, and optimize injection molding processes to ensure consistent performance and output
- Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions
- Support new product launches, including tooling validation and process qualification
- Improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and drive cost reduction initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Support automation systems, including troubleshooting robotic equipment and improving automated processes
- Assist in programming, maintaining, and optimizing robotic and auxiliary equipment
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues impacting manufacturing performance
- Partner with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies
- Optimize secondary processes such as heating, forming, and trimming operations where applicable
- Assist in tooling and product development to ensure manufacturability and efficiency
- Drive improvements in material usage, waste reduction, and overall operational performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience in injection molding and/or plastics manufacturing strongly preferred
- Knowledge of automation and robotic systems is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred)
