The primary responsibility of IT Help Desk Technician is to provide user support and customer service on company-supported computer applications and platforms. Troubleshoot problems and advise on appropriate action. Some afterhours work possible and on-call schedule rotation required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may participate in one or more of the following duties as directed by supervisor or manager.
Serves as the first point of contact for end users seeking technical assistance. Perform IT helpdesk duties in person, electronically and via phone by researching and diagnosing problems to resolve computer related issues. Documents/tracks by entering tickets, documenting detailed work and solutions, and escalating problems in accordance with company policies and guidance. Assists with IT projects as needed and asset lifecycle and IT supplies inventory tasks.
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on company computer equipment (such as PC, Cabling, Printers, peripherals, software and operating systems) to ensure maximum uptime and highest performance. Perform installations, troubleshooting and maintenance of company software such as Windows 10/11, Office365 Suite, CAD, manufacturing software packages, ERP system, file management, and more.
Performs user account administration tasks, patching and application deployment in a Microsoft Windows environment subject to governmental security requirements.
Build and maintain system images/workstations configurations. Performs workstation builds, maintenance and replacements. Maintains all associated documentation for configurations and assets in accordance with company requirements.
Ensures that company policy, goals, and objectives are being adhered to and works in the best interest of the company. Provides technical support companywide with the highest level of customer service to ensure company policies, goals and objectives are achieved.
Works as part of an IT team to identify, prioritize, and escalate matters of urgency to appropriate resource(s).
Able to keep company and employee information confidential. Ability to comply with strict procedures and policies in accordance with applicable regulations and compliance requirements. Basic technical writing abilities. Customer service minded.
Support both facilities and will need to be able to travel/drive to each facility (MN and WI).
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
0-2 years’ experience in a tech support function; preferably in a manufacturing environment
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Window 10 & 11, general networking, end point security and end user productivity software packages.
Experience in research, troubleshooting, analysis, remediation, documentation and training in relation to information technology problem solving and end user support.
Knowledge of relevant call tracking applications and IT support customer service practices.
Ability to travel 20% of the time.

Working knowledge of CMMC and/or NIST requirements preferred.
