This role is a key leadership position within healthcare revenue cycle operations, focused on optimizing financial and clinical workflows that support patient care and organizational efficiency. You will oversee workflow design, system configuration, and process improvements that directly impact billing accuracy, reimbursement, and operational performance. The position blends technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring close collaboration with clinical, financial, and IT stakeholders. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring that revenue cycle systems and processes are effectively designed, tested, and continuously improved. In this environment, you will also support system upgrades and implementations while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. This is a hands-on supervisory role where analytical thinking, system knowledge, and leadership converge to enhance end-to-end revenue cycle performance.
- Lead the assessment and optimization of revenue cycle workflows, identifying gaps and implementing process improvements.
- Design, configure, and maintain system modules and applications supporting revenue cycle and clinical operations.
- Develop and execute test scripts for end-to-end workflow validation, including unit, system, and integration testing.
- Oversee documentation of system configurations, process flows, and updates for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage cross-functional projects using structured project management methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Communicate project status, risks, milestones, and issues to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Lead and participate in meetings, ensuring clear reporting of progress, barriers, and resolutions.
- Troubleshoot system and workflow issues, escalate when needed, and recommend effective solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in business, information systems, healthcare, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in workflow analysis, revenue cycle, clinical operations, or healthcare systems environments.
- Strong experience with Epic systems and familiarity with third-party healthcare applications.
- Knowledge of HL7 standards and integrated healthcare application workflows.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional initiatives in complex environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Experience in documentation, system testing, and workflow design.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Epic certification required.
