Job Description

Azure Infra Support Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Azure Infra Support Engineer in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance, supporting a highly regulated healthcare environment where reliability and data protection are critical. You will be responsible for maintaining and securing complex Azure-based systems, ensuring high availability and operational stability across hybrid and cloud-native architectures. Working as a senior technical administrator, you will manage identity systems, cloud security tooling, and infrastructure automation while actively contributing to incident response and risk mitigation. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring close coordination with security, infrastructure, and compliance stakeholders. You will also play a key role in ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH. This is a hands-on engineering role where precision, security awareness, and proactive problem-solving directly impact system integrity and patient data protection.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage and secure Azure infrastructure using services such as Virtual Machines, VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Storage Accounts to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Administer and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud, including security posture management, threat detection, vulnerability remediation, and compliance monitoring.
  • Implement and enforce Azure Policy and governance frameworks to ensure continuous compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Lead identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), MFA, and hybrid identity synchronization.
  • Support incident response activities by analyzing security alerts, coordinating triage, and driving resolution using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Manage endpoint security and device compliance through Microsoft Intune, ensuring secure access to sensitive healthcare data across devices.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
Requirements:

This role requires 5–7 years of IT administration experience, including at least 3 years working in complex Azure environments. You should have strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure security configuration, and compliance monitoring within regulated environments. Deep knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, PIM, MFA, and hybrid identity architecture, is essential. You must also bring solid experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and enterprise-level system maintenance. Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management is required, along with a strong understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and HITECH. You should be highly analytical, strong in troubleshooting complex multi-layered issues, and capable of communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-500, or SC-300 are highly valued.

Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior-level infrastructure expertise
  • Remote work flexibility within the United States
  • Opportunity to work in a highly secure, regulated healthcare technology environment
  • Exposure to advanced Azure security and identity management technologies
  • Professional development and certification support
  • Collaborative, cross-functional engineering and security teams
  • Involvement in mission-critical infrastructure supporting sensitive healthcare data
  • Inclusive and equal opportunity workplace culture
