You will also play a key role in ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH. This is a hands-on engineering role where precision, security awareness, and proactive problem-solving directly impact system integrity and patient data protection.

- Administer and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud, including security posture management, threat detection, vulnerability remediation, and compliance monitoring.
- Implement and enforce Azure Policy and governance frameworks to ensure continuous compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Lead identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), MFA, and hybrid identity synchronization.
- Support incident response activities by analyzing security alerts, coordinating triage, and driving resolution using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel.
- Manage endpoint security and device compliance through Microsoft Intune, ensuring secure access to sensitive healthcare data across devices.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
This role requires 5–7 years of IT administration experience, including at least 3 years working in complex Azure environments. You should have strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure security configuration, and compliance monitoring within regulated environments. Deep knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, PIM, MFA, and hybrid identity architecture, is essential. You must also bring solid experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and enterprise-level system maintenance. Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management is required, along with a strong understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and HITECH. You should be highly analytical, strong in troubleshooting complex multi-layered issues, and capable of communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-500, or SC-300 are highly valued.
