About the Role: As a Designer, you will be an integral part of our select service hospitality project team, contributing your skills and talents to every phase of the design process. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced mentors who will guide you in building a well-rounded skillset and achieving your professional goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Designer and project team members to identify and achieve design goals. Deliver exceptional results to clients and brands.
- Alongside Project Designer, develop concept design narratives based on thorough research and analysis. Build engaging digital design presentations for client and brand review, utilizing your creativity and technical skills.
- Generate 3D design studies and solutions that bring concepts to life and help clients visualize space(s).
- Select hospitality grade furniture and finishes, pulling together appropriate materials with project team. Write detailed custom FF+E specifications to ensure accurate procurement of materials and products. Analyze prototype FF+E specifications for brand standard documentation.
- Create accurate FF+E matrices that align with project FF+E specifications and drawing documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Designer on ID drawing documentation, coordinate design solutions with vendors and consultants.
- Document design solutions that comply with building codes and federal ADA guidelines, prioritizing safety and accessibility.
- Attend project site visits and installations, ensuring successful implementation of documented design.
- Stay informed about new vendors and products to ensure design solutions are innovative and unique.
- Work with other Designers to maintain a comprehensive resource library to support the design studio's ongoing projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, or related field, from a CIDA accredited university. Associate Degree in Interior Design may be considered based on professional experience.
- 0-6 years of professional experience, strong preference for candidates with hospitality design experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with SketchUp, particularly with the Enscape plug-in, to create immersive 3D visualizations.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop for creating captivating design presentations.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel, for document creation and organization.
- Ability to write detailed custom FF+E specifications for hospitality grade product. Understanding of brand prototype FF+E specifications. Familiarity with procurement processes to assist Operations department.
