This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead revenue accounting in a fast-growing, innovative environment. As Revenue & Monetization Accounting Manager, you will oversee the full revenue close process, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with ASC 606. You will partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to support evolving revenue models, including advertising, self-serve payments, and partnerships. This position involves designing scalable processes, improving automation, and maintaining strong internal controls while supporting rapid business growth. You will act as a key strategic and operational partner, providing actionable insights for forecasting, financial analysis, and cross-functional initiatives. The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented leader who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building efficient, high-impact processes.
- Lead the monthly and quarterly revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue analysis
- Maintain revenue accounting policies under ASC 606 in partnership with Technical Accounting
- Analyze billing and revenue activity, identifying discrepancies, customer issues, and operational risks with timely resolution
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business Systems teams to support new product launches, self-serve payments, and partnership revenue streams
- Design and implement scalable revenue reconciliation processes, improving ledger accuracy and financial reporting efficiency
- Support Finance & Strategy with revenue insights, trend analysis, and forecasting
- Prepare and review revenue-related materials for audits and SOX compliance, ensuring strong internal controls
- Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements through automation, system enhancements, and workflow optimizations
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with revenue focus, preferably including public company experience
- Experience with payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Braintree) and enterprise accounting systems (Workday or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and financial reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, contract review, and multi-element arrangements
- Experience in fast-paced, evolving business environments with SOX compliance
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
- Excellent cross-functional communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration; CPA is a plus
