About This Position

Jamerson-Lewis is looking for a Quality and Field Technology specialist that will be responsible for ensuring projects meet Jamerson-Lewis quality standards. You will be responsible for reviewing documents, attending meetings, conducting walk-through inspections, and investigating non-compliant conditions. Additionally, this position will employ Jamerson-Lewis field technology (DroneDeploy, Trimble 3D Scanning, Robotic Total Station (RTS), etc.) to ensure quality standards are adhered to.

This position will be based in Lynchburg, VA with frequent local travel to job sites in Central Virginia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, review, and maintain Project-Specific Quality Plans
  • Assist with pre-installation meetings, mockups, first-work inspections, and quality hold point meetings
  • Conduct quality audits, quarterly check-in meetings, and field inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Plan and conduct Drone Deploy flight missions and 360 camera walkthroughs
  • Execute Trimble 3D Scanning and coordinate with design partners, survey teams, and BIM consultants as needed
  • Support layout verification using Robotic Total Station and assist field crews with RTS setup, calibration, and data accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Background in construction, engineering, surveying, or quality management.
  • 2+ years of construction experience, with a strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, means, and methods
  • ProjectSight or similar construction management software experience
  • Photogrammetry and digital layout concepts experience
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience scanning-to-BIM workflows, point cloud processing, or surveying tasks
  • Experience supporting Quality Control (QC) programs for a general contractor
  • Knowledge of Lean Construction principles
  • AutoCAD/Navisworks/Revit experience
  • Drone Deploy experience
  • Trimble 3D scanner experience
  • Trimble RTS experience

Working Conditions:

Construction setting, full time. Must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for longs periods of time, lift and hold in excess of 50lbs, talk, hear and occasionally sit. Must have the ability to withstand confined spaces and or/extreme heights while negotiating tasks at hand in a safe manner to themselves and/or others. Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.
