This role serves as a key point of contact for drivers and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate truck scale systems to accurately weigh inbound and outbound loads Verify and record material types, weights, and customer information in scale software Generate and process tickets, bills of landing, and shipping/receiving documentation Direct truck traffic safely and efficiently within the facility Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and operations teams to coordinate load movements Ensure compliance with DOT, environmental, and company regulations Maintain accurate records and logs for all transactions and daily reports Monitor and report discrepancies in load weights, materials, or documentation Provide excellent customer service to drivers, vendors, and internal teams Assist with scheduling, data entry, and general administrative tasks as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe scale house environment QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required Previous experience in scale operations, logistics, dispatch, or administrative support preferred Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, scale software, data entry systems) Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic knowledge of transportation, trucking, or waste/recycling operations is a plus Preferred ExperienceExperience working in landfills, recycling, quarry, or industrial environments Familiarity with truck scale systems and ticketing processes Knowledge of DOT regulations and material tracking Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems.Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts or loaders.Bilingual in English and Spanish.Work EnvironmentFast-paced industrial setting (landfill, recycling facility, or plant environment) Frequent interaction with truck drivers and heavy equipment traffic May require working outdoors or in varying weather conditions Ability to sit, stand, and perform administrative tasks for extended periods Key SkillsAs a Scale House Coordinator, you will utilize your strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate measurements and timely processing of paperwork. You will communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications will be essential in maintaining accurate records of all transactions. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to operate heavy equipment and utilize your knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
