This role sits at the intersection of advanced technical service, field expertise, and customer support within the rapidly evolving field of digital pathology. You will act as a key subject matter expert supporting complex diagnostic imaging systems used in cancer diagnostics, ensuring high performance, reliability, and optimal customer experience. Working in a field-based environment, you will collaborate closely with product teams, service engineering, and business units to resolve technical issues and improve product quality. The position plays a critical role in minimizing customer downtime while supporting training, escalation management, and continuous product improvement. You will also serve as a bridge between customers and internal teams, helping translate field insights into actionable product enhancements. This is a highly impactful role where technical depth, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration directly contribute to improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will provide advanced technical expertise and field support while contributing to product excellence and customer success:

  • Deliver remote and onsite technical support for digital pathology systems, ensuring high-quality service, minimal downtime, and compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Serve as a key liaison between field operations and the business unit, communicating product trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a qualified trainer, supporting knowledge transfer and capability building for internal teams and customers.
  • Lead escalation resolution efforts by coordinating with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement of products and service processes through field insights and structured feedback.
  • Assist in mentoring and training other team members to strengthen overall service performance.
  • Represent the organization professionally in all customer and internal interactions, ensuring strong relationship management.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong field service expertise, technical depth in diagnostic imaging systems, and the ability to operate effectively in a customer-facing, high-travel environment:

  • Associate degree in a technical field with 3+ years of field service engineering or technical support experience.
  • 1+ year of experience delivering technical training in a classroom or structured environment.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of digital pathology or similar complex imaging systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% domestically, with occasional international travel.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended standing, walking, and equipment handling.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of industry experience and prior exposure to digital pathology systems.
