This role supports the delivery of virtual healthcare services by guiding patients through every step of their telehealth experience. You will act as a key clinical support resource in a remote care environment, ensuring patients are properly prepared for their visits and that all intake information is accurate and complete. The position blends clinical knowledge, patient communication, and technology support to improve access to care at scale. You will work closely with nursing teams to escalate clinical concerns and help prioritize patient needs based on intake data and vital signs. This is a fast-paced, patient-facing remote role that requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. It offers the opportunity to directly improve healthcare accessibility while working in a modern, digital-first care model.
- Support patients through the full telehealth intake process, including portal check-in, video visit connection, and completion of screening questionnaires.
- Collect and document patient medical history, medication reconciliation, and at-home vital signs accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Provide real-time technical assistance to patients experiencing issues accessing virtual care platforms.
- Handle inbound patient calls, assess needs, and provide appropriate guidance or pre-visit support.
- Monitor patient intake data and escalate clinical concerns, abnormal vital signs, or risk indicators to Registered Nurses.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions across EHR and communication systems, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
- Support workflow prioritization by indexing and organizing patient cases based on clinical urgency and screening results.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant, with remote or telehealth experience preferred.
- Active certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare education is a plus.
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced clinical or patient support environments.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, with AthenaOne experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn tools such as EHR platforms, Slack, Google Suite, and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Flexible part-time scheduling with day, evening, and PRN shift options
- Remote contract position with structured operating hours (8 AM–8 PM EST, 7 days a week)
